TV: La Reina del Sur Capitulo 5 (Spoiler Alert)

Some real things happened in this episode.  The flashbacks actually worked to build on the love of the Guero.  There weren't as many montages which is nice, but still things feel a bit sluggish.  Like, we can see who is going to fall in love already.

Anyway, it will be nice to see how the cliffhanger gets resolved.

TV: La Reina del Sur Capitulo 4 (Spoiler Alert)

This was the best episode since the first.  Although, there were lots of montages so the actors were really tested.  However, the story moved along.  Now the main character is in Spain.  The Moroccan accents are fun.

The best scene was the main character accosting a stranger in the park because he looks like her deceased lover.  We shouldn't forget how powerful she is.

She also falls instantly in love with a man.  Call me old fashioned, I just want to see some justification for her feelings.  Is it his eyes? His muscles? Bring us into the emotions just a little bit.

Anyway, the new setting is much more colorful.  Let's see what Capitulo 5 brings us.

TV: La Reina Del Sur Capitulo 3 (Some Spoilers)

This episode seems to be a one hour cliffhanger.  Someone ordered someone else killed, but we don't know who died.  I can't stop thinking about the main character's nose job.  And, like the previous episode, there's lots of cocaine.

TV: La Reina del Sur Capitulo 2 (Some spoilers)

Well dang the show keeps going on.  This episode was not as good as the first.  Most of the "bad guys" dress so flamboyantly... are they supposed to look gay? Anyway the best part about this episode was the ridiculous amount of cocaine they throw around.  Like kilos of it.

There was also a trailer of sorts after the first 15 minutes.  It showed a lot of action and new characters.  Maybe it just blew the plot of the whole show.  It certainly doesnt appear to be filmed in Spain.

Anyway, I'm going to keep watching.

Like my previous Coding Train review, I watched this in fast forward.  He used a new setup this time and seemed to be a lot more gathered.  He found a function that saved him a lot of work, so he didn't even really have to code that much.  Knowing what not to code yourself is important, too. Anyway, he actually succedded in making the game this time.  Although this video has many fewer views that the first iteration, I think it is much more entertaining, ilnear, and enjoyable.

YT: Bloons Tower Defense 6 Review

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxh7bdFi028
Shows BTD6 and explains some of the features.  This creator does a good job explaining BTD5.  He complains a lot about the microtransactions in BTD6, and he has convinced me that they are annoying.  I just wonder if there is a lot of micro during the game.  Like, do I need to move my mouse around to collect bananas.  That kind of stuff leads to a lot of wasted gameplay, and stress.  Anyway, he didn't tell me to buy the game.  So tip of my hat for that.

YT: The Coding Train Snake Game in 15 mins

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaGK-fj-BAM
Clearly this guy is really talented, he doesnt seem to look up anything.  But, the premise is kind of stupid.  He tries to make a snake game in 15 minutes.  He pauses the video for a bit, and the timer stops, too.  Then he starts again and the timer runs out.  I mean, I guess I would rather seem him actually do something right.  The game is kind of a shambles when the video ends.  He can play mickey mouse as a coder, entertaining us with tips, his aforementioned skills, and his ability to patter on while typing code at the same time.  But I'm not sure what I really learned from this besides the importance of naming variables.  Maybe he wasn't trying to teach anything and was just documenting his attempt, but I suspect he was just involved in a form of content churn.  A decent watch, but a few minutes in I cranked up the speed to 1.5x and I didn't see a reason to slow it back down.

TV: La Reina del Sur capitulo 1 (some spoilers)

the queen falls in love. sometimes i can't understand everything that is being said and I definitely lose some details.  i'm not sure why she fell in love with the man of her dreams, i mean i don't understand her dreams.  even though the plot is quite dark, including the murder of children and rape, everything seems to be full of color and there are lots of bright scenes.  the villians seem to be the most humanized characters so far.  the random altars in the market are fun, and the church looks to be the construction of a crazy person.  i love it.  can't wait to see what spain holds for the reina.

FILM: the ballad of buster scruggs

on netflix.  presented as a series of vignettes.  the first two were good, so was another one that featured tom waits.  none of the characters were people of color. nor was anyone gay.  there was an abundance of violence and death; i am not certain it always contributed to the story(s).  there wasn't much in the way of human affection, definitely no steamy romance.  some of the singing and songs were fun, and there were a lot of pretty camera moves and colors.  the native americans were protrayed as absolute savages.  several people highly recommended this to me, so i hesitate to set expectations for you.
