YT: Best of Snake from the Simsons

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teKlTKcDIOA

Snake isn't as stupid as I thought.  He is trying to steal money to pay off his student loans.

YT: CWA talks about rule changes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2FUs43qWWs

So I guess matches will now have triple elixir time, and all matches will be 5 minutes long.  This seems like a solution to a problem that doesn't really exist, but it might be interesting.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pji33MoJ5Z4

basically you just need a strong magnet to undo the theft prevention ink things from clothes.  cool

YT: Publish an NPM Package in 7 minutes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpjEvLUUtNg

What did I just watch? A lot of screen changing and typing, fuzzy audio.  I guess I learned about some things... I've never seen some of that stuff before.  Whet is Sublime? It always seems like there is another tool that I have to read up on before I can actually start to do anything.

But yeah, this was over my head.

TV: The Tick SE1 E5

Well this one was a yawn.  I don't think I laughed at all.

The Civic Minded 5 were funny, especially their sedan and the fact that feral boy drives.  But I don't think I laughed out loud.

If the next episode is this stupid I will stop watching the show.

YT: Lockpicking Lawyer 976

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9L9yXswSxI

A lock so bad it becomes difficult to pick.

It looked like magic watching him open this thing, but he did it sure enough.

TV: The Tick SE1 E4

The master bread maker is the villain. He makes bread bombs.  He hates white bread.  I can sympathize.  I'm not going to blow up anything, though.

The tick eats an exploding loaf and uses a rolling pin on his stomach.

The ending is fun, they tie in one of the useless superheroes from the city.  He finally helps save the day.

The Tick himself seems a bit schizo, going between making long noble speeches and being a complete idiot.

But it was fun.

TV: The Tick SE1 E3

The bad guy is a mentalist.  He tricks the tick into stealing a powerful helmet that lets the mentalist shoot lasers.  The helmet runs on a two cycle motor, so the good guys pull the choke and everything stops, the day is saved.

A few laughs here and there, but this episode seemed to rest a bit too hard on the choke.

TV: The Tick SE1 E2

So we are introduced to Chairface Chippendale, the biggest baddest guyest.  He tries to carve his name into the sun.  For his birthday.

American Maid a very capable hero, with shoes made of some superior material.

The guy who shoots lasers out of his nose.  LOL

Don't you blow your nose at me mister.

I'm currently overcome by a wave of nausea, forgive this shit review.

TV: The Tick SE1 E1

Well, here's a show I watched as a kid.  Lots of jokes I would still make are scattered throughout the show.  Parody, contempt made fun.

The punisher crying was great.  Tick destroys buildings as goes on patrol, the name of the city that the tick protects is "The City."

It is difficult to tell what the actual meaning of the show is... he really does save the city but also... he is a fool.

Maybe you don't need to be smart to be a hero? Is that some kind of undergrad thesis?

It is a show for children.

Anyway, the bad guys can't be heard because they wear masks.

YT: Maria Ozawa Interview

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48hL5ewelEY

Well a normal person, did'nt know much about this person.  Her English is pretty good.  She seems to be thinking in Japanese because she switches into it several times when she can't explain things.

So yeah, she has a film to sell but she doesn't talk about it that much.  I guess she gets to use a sword

YT: Aeropress Go

YT: UFC

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqBNf_hHW4o

this recap skipped the amazing speed and athleticism, but gave a good radio version of things.  i didnt have to watch to get the main points

the name of the belt at stake was ridiculous

it is like wwe

cool

i hope everyone is safe

YT: CWA and gameplay in latest meta

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oMQkRC-ilU

So the changes have changed things.

Some are down some are up

I only half watched this at 1.5 speed, so I probably missed something.

YT: Pronouncing French Vowels rap

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPU9U-vN4_A

Finally some memorable content. What does that vowel sound like? It sounds like getting hit in the balls.  EU

YT: Pronouncing French vowels

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mC2zRtx8h8

so, it has been a bit since I watched this. I can't remember too much

there seemed to be a lot of irregular pronunciations.

kazaam.  lots to study

YT: French pronunciation 101

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VOhQ2V4E14

Well there were a lot of things zooming around.  I can't remember much.  Seemed well ordered.  I need surprises.  I should focus more on raising my awareness first, I think.

YT: How to pronounce eu in French

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n94F-DMvvLM
So yeah, this was well produced but I don't remember much of the pronunciations.  I was entertained enough to watch again, which I suppose I will have to do.

YT: French Negations

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rymbg3PnyL0

So yeah, only one negation per phrase, never two.

I think that's right.

Negation seems more regular than in English.

I'm not sure if this video really helped... just a list of explanations.  Although, the creator does do a pretty good job of laying it out.  It is obviously well prepared.

YT: Useful French Expressions

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACGDaw_kYKM

As the title says, seems to be a bit of useful phrases.  Some people they interview have funny responses.  But... it has been a few days since I watched this and I can't remember any of the phrases that I heard, only the English translations.

So, just watching this doesn't seem to be that effective.

YT: Balance Changes 11/4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLzu1yLBU5U

So yeah, a big witch nerf.  Looks like the whole meta is going to change again.  There are a lot of big changes, mostly nerfs, but the witch seems to be hit the hardest.

Must be hard to balance things across all the trophy ranges and ladder, but still, this balance change seems to be of poor quality.

Film: Event Horizon

I recall watching this when I was younger, chopped up in several parts, probably on a cable movie service, over a series of days.  Channel flipping through at certain moments, seeing the middle three or four times, but never the first 10 minutes.  There were terrifying moments, the gore, the spaceship story seemed quaint, but the images from it have lasted.  The spinning orb that kills people.  Who is the evil in this story?

I'm not quite sure.

I rewatched this with some friends.  We laughed at a lot of parts together.  We tried to guess who would die, tried to guess some of the lines from the story.  It was a good time, but the movie really showed its age.  The cgi was especially awful, although most of the other special effects were quite good, especially the cut up and bleeding skin.

The next day we met a guy who had also watched Event Horizon.  He said he loved the director and loved the movie.  I was surprised... it was mostly a trash film.  Maybe people like popcorn flicks much more than I do.  Mostly I watch movies by myself, often as I eat, the viewing spread out over several periods, sometimes as short as 10 minutes.  People like different things, that's what I learned from this movie.

What Ebert said:
It's all style, climax and special effects. The rules change with every scene.

Deeply buried in "Event Horizon'' is a suspicion of knowledge. Maybe that's why its characters have so little of it.
