Watched this on a plane. Here's my note version review:
Dunno if the pain and sorrow scattered throughout the film really pushed
the plot and characters into showing themselves, there seemed to be a
disconnect between the action and reaction. And the race issues brought
up seemed to be tangential to the personal narratives that were built.
I can't fault a film for not having a happily ever after ending, but
what is the point of the honey in the film? Maybe I just don't have the
perspective to appreciate the symbols.
